Our story

COFFEE is a beverage from roasted coffee beans. Darkly colored, bitter, and slightly acidic.
Coffee has a stimulating effect, primarily due to its caffeine content.

The definition of coffee reflects the experience most people have with this beverage,
but it has the potential to be so much more than just coffee.

Like many, I once saw coffee as just a routine pick-me-up, well for the rest of my family at least.
When I was younger I tried coffee a couple of times and decided it was not for me.
I even claimed that I would never start drinking coffee.

That was until I discovered Specialty Coffee.
My first encounter with Specialty Coffee was in a coffee shop in Paris.
I noticed that some of the coffees being served weren't like the usual black cups I was used to.
This coffee in particular had a bright dark amber red color.
Being curious I decided to order a coffee and try it once again.

I expected to experience the usual unpleasant bitterness that I had been accustomed to,
but to my surprise it felt like a completely different drink. The bitterness was still present,
but it was actually pleasant and it contributed to the flavor balance in the cup.
Pleasant bitter, sweet and herbal notes reminiscent of chocolate, stone fruits and clove.

Amazed by this newfound experience I bought a Hario-V60 as soon as I got home.
